Product Description
Type Fountain Pen
Product Name Parker 61, Mark II. It's hard to read the imprint, it could be "II" or "III". We think of Mark II as being the capillary-fill model with the wider clutch ring, but it could be they numbered them differently in Argentina ... these have aerometric filling systems, which wasn't a version of the pen we see in the USA, where the capillary filling system was replaced by a cartridge/converter filling pen and is considered the Mark III.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, Argentina -- 1959-62
Length 5-7/16"
Filling System Fixed aerometric (squeeze) filing system. The instructions are in Spanish.
Color Black barrel and section with gold cap that has a repeating pattern of six lines and a space. Gold arrow clip. Double pearlized jewels on either end of the fountain pen.
Nib FINE gold hooded nib. (These Argentinian P61s have two metal dots instead of the inset arrow on the hood.)
Condition Excellent condition for this velvety black, shiny pen with a glowing gold cap. This is a sophisticated, elegant looking pen. The barrel and section have light scratching and look great. The cap looks great with no dents, but the clip, and clip ring have significant plating wear or flaking (see photo below). The pearlescent cap jewel looks excellent. The pearlescent jewel at the end of the barrel has some tiny dot scratches at the peak. The imprints, "61 Parker 60 MKIII, Industria Argentina" on the cap are clear.
