Product Description
Type Button filling fountain pen and mechanical pencil set, restored and working well.
Product Name Pastel, from the Lucky Curve series. These are not the Petit Pastel, because there is a single cap ring.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in U.S.A. -- 1927-9 (the first generation, non-streamlined version).
Length The pen is 4-1/2 inches (including the ring top hardware), the pencil is 4-7/8 inches.
Filling System Button filler, we've restored it with a new sac and it's working well. The pencil takes 1.1mm leads, which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. We'll include some extra leads.
Color Naples Blue, gold plated trim. The color on both pieces has mostly mellowed to a hue closer to teal, though it does shift to blue in different lights.
Nib MEDIUM SEMI-FLEX Parker Lucky Curve Pen nib marked B is smooth with nice tipping material. It has a bit of flex to it, with easy line variation from fine to a broad. Please see our writing sample.
Condition Excellent condition in box. The fountain pen has a very small crack in the cap lip, as shown below. The rest of the cap looks great, with nice even color. There is light scratching on the cap band, but no brassing or plating wear. The ringtop hardware is solid. The barrel shows a bit more yellowing than the cap, and the color is slightly uneven. There is light handwear and scratching all over. The pencil is likewise in great condition. The color is very even, and the black bands at either end of the barrel are quite dark. The nose cone looks good, with just a bit of extra scratching near the tip, but no brassing or plating wear. The gold crown is also lovely, with no brassing or plating wear. The box is in really nice condition.
