Product Description
Type Commemorative fountain pen in original box.
Product Name Duofold World War II (Douglas MacArthur) commemorative pen, a Special Edition offered in 1995 for the 50th Anniversary of the 1945 signing of documents on the USS Missouri. This is #1247 of 1945.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, UK, 1995.
Length Fountain pen is 5-3/8"
Filling System Takes Parker cartridges or converters. A Parker converter is installed in the pen.
Color Solid orange with black end pieces and gold plated trim. The orange is very similar to the older red hard rubber or the permanite that Parker used decades earlier. The pen itself is a tribute to the 20-year-old Parker Duofold that was used in the 1945 signing.
Nib FINE ITALIC 18k nib. The feed is marked with 98, which represents either a fine or heavy italic nib; we judge this closer to a fine italic nib.
Condition Excellent + condition, in American Cherrywood box, with paperwork including Certificate of Authenticity. No cracks or chips in the cap or barrel. There is some light microscratching and handwear, but no significant marks. The trim looks good, with mostly light polishing marks. The trim ring nearest the nib has some tiny spots of plating wear. This is a nice-sized pen in a classic design and color. The imprints are clear. Ships in commemorative American Cherrywood box with outer brown cardboard box and paperwork. There's also an outer-outer white cardboard box which has a sticker with the 1247 serial number, matching the one on the pen and certificate.
Note: there are some ink stains on the nib visible in the photos. These do not affect the pen's function, and we have since polished these away.
