Product Description
Type Early button filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Parker Lucky Curve #16 "turban top". We're not sure but we think this is considered the "baby" model. Marked Parker Fountain Pen on the cap's overlay. The number 16 is imprinted on the end of the barrel.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in U.S.A. -- circa 1910s.
Length 3-1/8", not counting ring hardware. It's attached to a chain that's about 5-1/4" long.
Filling System Eyedropper filler. We will send instructions on how to fill and use this pen.
Color Black hard rubber with a gold-filled filigree overlay. The barrel is personalized with the initials "P A B".
Nib EXTRA-FINE semi-flexible gold nib. Smooth and with good tipping material. It puts down a very fine line, and you can get up to about a broad with a bit of pressure. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + with no cracks or chips. This is a dainty, gorgeous pen with a lovely gold filled overlay. The gold-filled overlay has small touches of brassing. There is a ring of brassing on the end of the barrel overlay. We also see brassing on the inner cutout edges of the filigree. There are several tiny shallow dents and small dings in the overlay, but nothing that's large or really breaks through the plating surface. The section looks almost perfect, with hardly any marks on it. The "turban top" feature is really cool - the top of the cap screws in or out, and fits securely against the front of the section so the nib is stored in an air-tight and ink-tight compartment, preventing links (according to a 1913 Parker catalog - see pg 6!). The imprints are clear.
