Product Description
Type Fountain pen with aerometric filing system.
Product Name New Duofold Senior, "New" was added to the Duofold name when the aerometric system was adopted.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in England -- 1950s or 60s (We couldn't make out a date code on the barrel and there wasn't one on the nib, but the English Duofolds adopted aerometric systems in 1953 and the Maxima continued well into the 60s).
Length 5-5/8 inches.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filler like that of the later Parker 51s and the Parker 21s. We've cleaned and tested it and it's working very well.
Color Black cap and barrel with gold plated trim. Thin size cap band with a chevron pattern (it looks sort of like this: ////\\\\////\\\\). It has a matching black cap jewel.
Nib BROAD 14k nib is marked 50. The 50 indicates that it's a nib that goes on a Duofold Maxima. It's smooth and springy with great tipping material.
Condition Excellent + condition. There are a few marks on the cap lip and around the clip but overall the pen is very shiny looking with low handwear. There's a few spots of plating wear on the clip, especially on the fletching. The imprint is mostly legible with microscratching and fading hindering the reading. The details of the arrow clip and cap band are crisp. No cracks, chips, dents, or scratches. It's working very well.
