Product Description
Type High-end modern fountain pen.
Product Name Sonnet (this is the first version with the thin cap bands).
Manufacturer and Year Parker, France -- 2002 (the date code is a clear A. This could indicate 2002 or 2012, but since this design was retired in 2002 we can say it was made in 2002).
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System The pen takes Parker style cartridges and converters. A Parker piston converter is installed.
Color The Fougere pattern is made up of rows of darts that run lengthwise. The trim is gold plated and the cap has a wide cap band.
Nib FINE 18k nib is very smooth with lovely tipping. It is a bit springy. The feed is labeled F. It's a good looking nib. The silver color in the two-tone design is ruthenium. We believe the whole nib is ruthenium masked with gold plating over that.
Condition Excellent + condition. The pen is nicely shiny but there are polishing marks. It adds to the detailing of the fougere pattern but dulls the appearance of the gold plated trim a bit. There are some capping marks on the barrel. There's minimal wears on the nib collar trim which is unusual (we commonly see these pens with corrosion on the trim). The cap imprints are clear. No cracks, dings, dents, or plating wear. It's working perfectly.
