Color This red, black, and gold finish was called "Chinese Laque Red." The trim is 23k gold plated. Hand painted.
Nib MEDIUM two-tone 18k nib
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a shiny, beautifully painted fountain pen. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and by posting. The cap has a few places where there are blotchy surface marks (close to the cap band) which look like a coating used to cover the lacquer work. The cap band has microscratching and one tiny blotchy area on the upper edge which looks like some of the coating got on the cap band. The clip and clip ring have light microscratching. The imprints, including the date code, are clear.
