Filling System The fountain pen fills via Parker style cartridges or with a converter. The mechannical pencil takes 0.5mm leads. We will include a packet of leads.
Color This gold and brown mottled finish was called "Chinese Laque Ambre." The trim is 23k gold plated. We've heard that this is one of the hardest to find finishes, and was only available in the first series of Sonnets between 1994-97. The design contains some Chinese characters which are written in red on the cap (see photos). They read, "自然来源" We understand that the definition implies that the pen is made of natural materials or is hand painted. The pencil color is a little lighter than the fountain pen, but there can be a lot of variance on these Chinese lacquer Sonnets as they were all done individually.
Nib STUB 18k nib with a left oblique cut. The section is labeled S.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. We believe that this pen has never been inked. This is a beautiful, shiny, classic pen and pencil set. The fountain pen has light microscratchng on the cap and barrel. The section has two clusters of scratches. The cap band has moderate microscratching. The clip and clip ring have light microscratching. The mechanical pencil cap and barrel look excellent. The cone, cap band, clip, and clip ring all have light microscratching. The imprints on both pieces are clear.
