Product Description
Type Fountain pen with vacumatic filling system
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Debutante (this is the smallest size of lockdown vacumatic). It differs from sub-debs in that the jewels and section are striped, indicating it's an upscale model.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA - circa 1933. No date code.
Length 4-5/8"
Filling System Vacumatic with the early lockdown filler, restored here at PSP.
Color Silver Pearl rings alternating with deep brown translucent rings. Silver pearl striped jewels at both ends. Nickel or chrome plated trim, including three narrow cap bands.
Nib Fine nib is in excellent condition, very symmetrical and smooth. There's an A on the feed, suggesting that it's a firm and fine accountant nib. Some of the nib masking has been polished away, but this should not affect the nib's performance.
Condition Excellent condition. The cap has light scratching, with some more moderate scratching near the top. The clip has light scratching and some spots of plating wear, and there is plating wear on the clip ring and tassie. The cap jewel looks great. The cap bands have scratching and moderate plating wear and brassing. The barrel looks good (really excellent clarity!), with light to moderate scratching. The blind cap looks like it broke and was glued back together - there's a fairly clear seam around it and roughness that's probably glue residue. There are also heavy scratches. The imprint is clear and easily readable, though we don't see a date code. The trim ring on the blind cap has scratching and brassing. The blind cap jewel also has scratches and marks. .
