Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Vacumatic Debutante
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- 1940s (The date code is illegible -- maybe an 8? -- but the pen has an aluminum Speedline plunger puts it in late 1930s, so we think either the barrel or the filling unit is from an earlier double jewel model. The length is correct for a single jewel, Blue Diamond cap Debutante).
Length 4-11/16"
Filling System Vacumatic filling system, restored here at Peyton Street Pens. This is the aluminum plunger version. Tested and working well. Guaranteed for a year from the date of purchase.
Color Green and amber stacked rings body and cap with gold plated trim. It has alternating green bands and semi-transparent amber bands. The cap has a jewel that matches the pattern of the cap and barrel and a patterned cap band just over 1/8" wide. It has a blue diamond clip.
Nib MEDIUM 14k nib. The feed has a faint W on it.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a small-sized, shiny pen, in a lovely color pattern, and with a semi-transparent barrel. The cap and barrel have moderate scratching. The cap has a number of light scratches especially to the right of the end of the clip and to the left of the top of the clip. The decorated cap band has light microscratching. The clip has a tad of plating wear on the end of the arrow. The blue diamond looks great. The clip band has a little bit of pitting just above the clip mount and along that edge. The top jewel has light scratching. The imprints are faded but readable with magnification.
