Product Description
Type Fountain Pen, hard to find
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Junior. This first generation pen is identified by the one-piece barrel, the nib, and the "Vacuum Filler" imprint on the barrel.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- 1932-33 (no date code, but it says "Vacuum Filler" on the barrel so we know it's from 1932-33.)
Length 4-13/16"
Filling System Vacumatic filling system. We have fully restored the system, and will guarantee it for a year.
Color Silver Pearl laminate body and cap with nickel plated trim. The cap has an arrow clip and two narrow cap bands. The trim was originally nickel plated, but the cap bands look gold so they were probably originally nickel plated as the rest of the trim does not look like it was originally gold plated. Two striped jewels.
Nib Fine gold nib is smooth. This is the so-called "Feather Together" nib unique to these early Vacs.
Condition Excellent condition. There was originally a crack in the cap, located midway, which followed the exact border of the laminated celluloid. We repaired the crack so the cap is structurally sound, however you can see the gap under magnification where the laminated layers separated (see photo). The section looks perfect. The pen has hand wear on both the cap and barrel. The trim looks uneven because the cap bands are gold colored and the rest of the trim is silver colored. There are no chips, or personalization. The imprint is clear.
