Product Description
Type Vacumatic filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Major.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA - 1939-48 (there's no date code, but we can approximately date it by other factors).
Length 5-1/4 inches.
Filling System Standard Vacumatic filling system. We've restored it with a new diaphragm and it's working very well.
Color Black with gold plated trim. It has a blue diamond clip (with nice color), a black cap jewel, and a medium-wide chevron style cap band with a pattern like this: ///\\\///\\\.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE gold Parker U.S.A. plain style nib is smooth with lovely tipping material. Unusual nib, that might explain the flex which is uncommon in Vac nibs. It's what we consider every day flex, better than semi-flex but not full flex. Easy line variation from fine hairlines to a broad under hardly any pressure, and greater variation under a little more pressure. See writing sample.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. There's some plating wear on the edges and corners of the clip and tassie-ring, though the band is hardly worn at all. The cap and barrel show some light scratches and marks. The imprint is still quite crisp and readable. We've fully restored the pen and it's working very well.
