Product Description
Type Vacumatic filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Vacumatic Major..... at least the cap band and size are correct for a Major, however the clip is not the Blue Diamond style you usually see with Major pens.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1944 (The imprint of 4. is clear, indicating third quarter 1944). Nib imprint says "9" so it might be a later replacement.
Length Just under 5-1/16 inches.
Filling System Vacumatic plastic plunger system. We've fully restored it with a new diaphragm and it's working very well.
Color Golden brown colored body and cap with gold plated trim, a black cap jewel, chevron style cap band, and a split arrow clip.
Nib FINE Parker USA gold arrow style single-tone nibis smooth and firm with nice tipping material. It's marked with a 1939 date code.
Condition Very nice condition. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. There are some scratches on the cap and barrel, as well as a few small tooth marks toward the end of the barrel. The cap has some ridges which correspond to the celluloid pattern's striations. There are spots of brassing on the edges and details of the trim. The imprint is still quite clear and readable, and the barrel clarity is quite lovely. We've fully restored the pen and it's working very well.
