Parker Vacumatic Senior Maxima Fountain Pen (1947) - Grey Pearl w/Nickel Trim, Plastic Filler, Fine Parker Nib (Excellent, Restored)
SKU: 21995
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Senior Maxima. The Maxima is the largest Vacumatic model, with a fatter barrel and cap and a bigger nib. This was the final (3rd) version of the Maxima, with no jewel on the blind cap and a plastic filler. This model was made from 1942 to 1947, and yet it is the hardest to find of the oversized Vacs.
Manufacturer and Year Parker USA - circa 1947 (There is a .7. imprinted on the barrel.)
Length 5-3/8 inches (Maxima size). It looks a bit like the Major, with the same medium sized cap band, but it's definitely the Senior Maxima. Here are the diameters -- at cap band 15.35mm, and the fatest part of the barrel 13.20mm.
Filling System Vacumatic filler is in working condition. The filling system has been restored by us with a new diaphragm, and it has been tested. (We will guarantee the filling system for one year from purchase.)
Color Grey pearl and black barrel and cap with ambered transparent horizontal lines w/nickel trim. 1/4" gold Chevron style cap band. Black jewel on top of cap. Blue diamond clip.
Nib Fine Parker two tone nib (marked with a 45 date code)
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a large-sized, beautifully colored, very shiny pen with lightly ambered barrel transparency. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and light wear. The cap has light scratching with a small surface mark in one place above and just below the cap band which may be the remnant of a repair or glue used to secure the cap band. The section has some small, deep scratch marks which can be seen in the close-ups below. The cap band chevron pattern is a bit worn but it is intact. There is some light plating wear and light scratching. The clip and clip band have lots of plating wear. The top jewel has some small scratches near the tip. The imprints are clear.
