Product Description
Type Fountain Pen
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Oversize (identified by fat girth, length -- 5-3/8" -- and lockdown filling system)
Manufacturer and Year Parker, Canada - 1937 (date code is just barely readable but looks like "47" to us meaning 4th quarter 1937)
Length 5-3/8 inches ("Oversize" model).
Filling System Vacumatic lockdown filler is in excellent working condition. The filling system has been restored by us with a new diaphragm, and it has been tested. (We will guarantee the filling system for one year from purchase.)
Color Black and amber transparent barrel with dark velvety black cap. Arrow aka Deco style clip. Three cap bands. Black jewels on top of cap and end of barrel. The clip band has a registered number engraved: 784404
Nib 18k Medium Flexible nib. Though it is hard to read, the nib says "Imported" but since we didn't pull the nib we don't know the rest of the imprint. It's probably "Importe de Canada" and since 18k nibs were not common, this might have come from France or England. The nib has a W stamped on the back of the feed. Please see writing sample.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a large-sized, shiny pen, with great barrel transparency through the black and amber circumference rings on the barrel, and the rich, velvety black cap. The barrel looks excellent with some moderate scratching on the end piece. The cap has some moderate scratching near the top and on either side of the top of the clip. The three thin cap bands have some plating wear on the edges. The clip has a bit of plating wear along the edges of the arrow end. The clip ring has plating wear along the edges. The cap jewels are excellent. The imprint is somewhat faded, but readable.
