Product Description
Type Vintage Fountain pen
Product Name Vacumatic Standard
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- 1933 - there's no date code, which Parker started adding to their pens in 1934.
Length 5-1/16"
Filling System Vacumatic filler is in excellent working condition. The filling system has been restored here at Peyton Street Pens. (We will guarantee the filling system for one year from purchase.) It has an early lockdown filling system.
Color "Opaque Grey" aka ilver pearl with siver color trim. (Though the barrel looks a bit like Golden Pearl, that was not a color offered in 1933, so we believe it was originally opaque grey.) There are two jewels, both of which match the color pattern of the pen. The cap has a trio of narrow bands.
Nib FINE Parker nib.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. The color of the cap and barrel don't seem to match. The barrel is much warmer or more yellow than the cap. We know that the color is Opaque Grey (later Silver Pearl) though because Parker used chrome or nickel plated trim on those, and gold trim on all of the other colors. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and light to moderate scratching. The cap has light scratching. The top cap jewel has light scratching. The jewel at the end of the barrel looks nice. The trim band around this jewel has some brassing, but the original silver color is still obvious. The cap bands have microscratching and quite a bit of plating wear. The clip and clip ring have moderate scratching as well as plating wear along the edge. The imprints are very clear.
