Product Description
Type fountain pen
Product Name 140 (Marked on cap trim)
Manufacturer and Year Pelikan - Germany, circa 1953-54. (In 1954 they started putting the model number on the cap band, which this has, and after 1954 they didn't imprint the barrel with the Guenther Wagner imprint, and this one does not have that imprint, so we date this right around 1953-54.)
Length 4-7/8"
Filling System Piston filling system. Tested and working well.
Color Green striped transparent barrel, black cap, section, and end pieces. Gold plated trim.
Nib The two hole nib indicates it's one of the uncommon manifold extra fine 14k nibs.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a classically designed pen in a great color combination, with excellent barrel transparency and that is shiny. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and moderate scratching. The blind cap has moderate scratching, mostly micro but some longer. The cap has mainly light scratching with a few random longer scratch marks. The cap band has some light plating wear. The clip has light microscratching. The clip ring has some plating wear.
