Product Name Toledo M700 (The 700 is vermeil and the 710 has palladium plating over the sterling instead of gold.)
Manufacturer and Year Pelikan, Germany -- 1990-1997 (based on the bicolor nib)
Length 5 inches. The M7xx is based on the M400-series, but is slightly heavier due to the extra metal components.
Filling System Piston filling system, tested and working well.
Color Black with sterling silver barrel sleeve, engraved and then partially covered in gold ("vermeil"). The clip is gold-plated with a matte finish.
Nib 18k 2-tone OB (oblique broad) nib. It seems soft.
Condition Near mint condition. There's light handwear on the black parts of the pen but the rest looks fantastic. The carvings are unblemished and the imprints are crisp. There's some tarnish on the overlay. The matte finish on the clip is even. Ink window is clear. The Toledo pens are hand engraved, and only about 200 are available each month. This pen has an imprint near the end of the barrel that indicates the lot number (8/F09).
