Product Description
Type Fountain pen, special edition
Product Name M750, made for the 150th year anniversary of the Pelikan company
Manufacturer and Year Pelikan, Germany -- 1988-95. This pen is one of the earlier models, as it bears the imprint Pelikan W.-Germany 1838-1988 on the cap band; the dates were not present later in the production run.
Length Just a hair under 5 inches. The M7xx is based on the M400-series, but is slightly heavier due to the extra metal components.
Filling System Piston filling system. We've tested it and it's working very well.
Color Silverplated with a barleycorn pattern, accented with 24k gold-plated clip, cap nut, and section ring. Black section and translucent green ink viewing window. Serial number 021660.
Nib EXTRA-FINE 18k 2-tone fine nib. It seems soft.
Condition Very nice condition, we consider it user grade. Sadly, the plating on these pens is very delicate and prone to wear, and this pen is no exception. We've priced it accordingly, about $250 less than one in better condition without the plating wear. The surface feels smooth, but with magnification you see it has a lot of wear, and we hesitate to polish it due to the risk of further removing the plating. The cap lip is brassed, as is the ring at the front of the section. The clip also has plating wear. Having said that, it's still a Pelikan and works quite well. Ink window is clear.
