Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name MK 10. This was a "school pen" type model.
Manufacturer and Year Pelikan, Germany -- 1967-70.
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Piston filling system. We have tested the system and it's working very well.
Color Black barrel with blue viewing window, black cap and end piece, with gold plated trim.
Nib Fine gold plated steel nib, smooth and somewhat soft. There's part of a sticker on the barrel that says "ST" - we've seen Pelikan pens with this designation before, and it stands for "steno" or shorthand. However, it's not the firm nib we usually associate with shorthand; these were made for Pitman shorthand, which relies in part on line width to distinguish between characters. We've included a writing sample in the photos.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a nice sized pen in a solid, standard color. The cap and barrel have light scratching. The clip has some brassing around the top edge. The rest of the trim all looks quite nice, with minimal brassing or plating wear. Some of the plating on the nib has been polished away. The viewing window is beautiful, transparent dark blue. The imprints are clear.
