Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Non-Breakable, boasts the imprint on the barrel, it has a #2 nib and is full length, though slender.
Manufacturer and Year Pencraft, which was a Michael-George Company associated with Kraker and the Rexall stores. The pen is marked Grand Haven, Mich.
Length A little under 5-1/2".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Bluish green marbled color with gold plated trim, two thin cap bands, and a black section. Though the color is nicely uniform, we're guessing this pen was originally a more common jade color.
Nib FINE-MEDIUM flexible gold Pencraft 2 nib is smooth with great tipping material. It's not quite full flex, but more than what we generally call semi-flex, with nice line variation from a large fine to a large broad or double broad with only very light pressure. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition, with general wear but no cracks, chips, or personalization, most of the imprint is fairly readable. .There are some spots of brassing and minor dents and bends on the cap bands, as well as light brassing spots on the lever and clip. There are some lesser scratches and marks on the cap and barrel. The color it currently appears is probably not its original color, as the part of the barrel near the threads where it is covered by the cap is slightly lighter and more green than most of the pen. It's fully restored and working well.
