Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Unknown model.
Manufacturer and Year Pick Pen Co., Cincinnati, Ohio. They made pens from 1920 to 1933, and since this model seems vaguely Balance-like, we are guessing this pen is from the later years.
Length Fountain pen 5-3/8", verging on the oversize.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and its working well.
Color Black, with gold plated trim and two thin cap bands.
Nib SEMI-FLEXIBLE MEDIUM gold Pick #6 nib is smooth with nice tipping material. The line varies from a medium to a nice broad with a little pressure. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. Light scratching and handwear. There are some bite or tooth marks at the top of the cap, as well as some more defined scratching. The clip has brassing and plating wear, and also around the perimeter of the ball end. There is a lot of brassing on the cap bands. The lever looks pretty good. There are some tool marks on the section, as well as horizontal scratching. The imprint is fairly worn, but still somewhat readable. No cracks, chips, or personalization.
