Nib The 18k nib is marked medium, though Japanese mediums are finer than most western mediums.
Condition Near mint in box, with paperwork. Very slight signs of wear with no dents, dings or personalization. We did find the pen had a trace of ink on it, so it has been inked or dipped.
Ishidatami means stone paving, and you can find some more information on preserved pavement from the Edo period (1603-1868) here. The pattern of small, irregular lines found in the cobblestone roads has inspired artists over the centuries, and is presented in lovely form on the surface of this pen.
