Product Description
Type Capless fountain pen -- the nib retracts like a ballpoint.
Product Name Vanishing Point, "Carbonesque"
Manufacturer and Year Pilot (Namiki), made in Japan -- 2010 (the date code on the nib is 510.)
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Pilot cartridge or converter. A piston converter is installed. There is a metal cartridge "sleeve" that you should use if you want to use a cartridge, which prevents the clicker mechanism from crushing the cartridge. One of these sleeves is located underneath the platform. The filling system has been tested and is working well. We guarantee the filling system for a year from the date of purchase.
Color "Carbonesque", known as "Kasuri" in Japan, is a lacquer with small interrupted dashes in an almost zig-zag pattern. The background lacquer is blue so this is the Blue Carbonesque version. The Carbonesque name comes from a visual similarity to carbon fiber whereas Kasuri comes from the fabric style the pattern mimics. The trim is rhodium plated.
Nib FINE 18k yellow gold nib.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a shiny dark blue pen with an intricate pattern on the cap and barrel and a unique overall design. We can't really find any marks or scratches on the cap and barrel. The rhodium trim, including clip and clicker, has a few tiny marks under magnification, but looks all smooth and shiny and basically new in hand. The imprints are clear. Ships in Pilot box with paperwork, a metal cartridge sleeve, and a cartridge. The clip tag is also present.
