Product Description
Type Capless fountain pen -- the nib retracts like a ballpoint.
Product Name Vanishing Point, "Carbonesque". The red carbonesque is harder to find than the blue or black.
Manufacturer and Year Pilot (Namiki), made in Japan -- 2021 (the date code is P321 on the nib.)
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Pilot cartridge or converter. A piston converter is installed. There is a cartridge cover that we recommend using if you want to use a cartridge. It lets the clicker mechanism work better.
Color "Carbonesque", known as "Kasuri" in Japan, is a lacquer with small interrupted dashes in an almost zig-zag pattern. The background lacquer is red so this is the Red Carbonesque version. The Carbonesque name comes from a visual similarity to carbon fiber whereas Kasuri comes from the fabric style the pattern mimics. The trim is rhodium plated. Original clip tag.
Nib FINE 18k nib.
Condition Near mint condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings and with original clip tag. We believe this pen has never been inked. This is a deep red pen with an intricate pattern on the cap and barrel and with a unique overall design. The cap and barrel are beautiful, shiny and the pattern is all intact. There is an occasional light microscratch on the cone, clip, and clicker. The imprints are clear.
