Product Name Platinum Urushi.
Manufacturer and Year Platinum, Japan -- probably from the 1990s. This is not the current Izumo model.
Length 5-3/4"
Filling System Cartridge/converter filler. A piston converter is installed and there is an ink cartridge in the box.
Color Red "tamenuri" urushi with gold plated trim. The color is a red over the majority of the pen's body, with the brighter red undercoats showing throughout. Over time, more of the red will be revealed. It has rounded ends and the shape is similar to the Platinum 3776 but with a different clip. Black section.
Nib Broad 18k nib. (Japanese nibs run finer than western nibs).
Condition Near mint condition, in box, and with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a beautiful, shiny, silky-smooth burgundy fountain pen that looks great. The cap, barrel, and trim have light microscratches here and there. But, overall, the surface has a special silken quality and deep color variation. The imprint on the clip is clear.
