Product Description
Type Fountain pen made of Indian ebonite (hard rubber)
Product Name This is the oversized 4C model by Ranga ... gently rounded on both ends.
Manufacturer and Year The barrel, cap and section were made by our friends at Ranga Pen Company, India. The nib is modern Sheaffer from the 1990s.
Length 6"
Filling System We have configured this pen as a blow-filler. It's a simple filling process: put the nib in ink, and blow in the hole in the end of the barrel once or twice. (Surprsing little pressure is actually required.) Leave the nib in the ink for a few seconds, pull it out and wipe off any excess ink on the section. The pen is ready to write. You don't need to unscrew the barrel, but if you did you'd see a simple rubber sac which will be easy to maintain and replace if it ever wears out. You can also fill the pen by squeezing the rubber bladder.
Color Smooth green ripple ebonite. Gold colored clip.
Nib STUB ITALIC. Very strange nib! It's not marked 14k or 18k, but it's got the international hallmarks you usually associate with gold nibs. It might be a prototype because the masking is way off the mark! It looks just a little like the senior sized two tone Lifetime nibs from the 1940s, but we've never seen one with the international diamond hallmarks. It started as a conventional round ball broad, but we ground it to produce a wide italic that is crisp but not sharp or scratchy. Please see writing sample below.
Condition Brand new ebonite components, and the nib is new old stock Sheaffer.
