Product Description
Type Handmade ebonite fountain pen with an aerometric filling system and a vintage flexible nib.
Product Name Peyton Street Pens - we call this model "Soquel."
Manufacturer and Year Ranga Pens of india made the ebonite components, and adapted a Chinese Hero aerometric filling system. The nib is a flexible Waterman nib from the 1930-40s which we fitted here at PSP.
Length 5-3/16 inches.
Filling System Aerometric (squeeze) filling system. (Please note that squeezing the aerometric filler a few times will get the pen about half full, meaning the section and lower part of the sac will be filled. This will provide quite a bit of ink, more than a conventional cartridge. In order to fill the pen more completely, you have to squeeze the filler a few times while it is in the ink, then carefully wipe it down, point the nib at the ceiling, and give the pen a little shake or flick with your fingernail to get the ink to move into the top of the sack. Then you can put the nib back into the ink and squeeze the filler again, and this will add some more ink.)
Color The pen is made of ebonite in the smooth Olive Ripple color. This version of the Soquel has not been configured for a clip.
Nib FLEXIBLE MEDIUM 14k Waterman's Ideal I-S Canadian nib is smooth with excellent tipping remaining, and writes a nice juicy line. It flexes from fine to a good broad without much pressure. It's excellent every day flex, a little better than semi-flex, but not what we would call full flex. Describing flex is not an exact science! See our writing sample below.
Condition Other than the nib, all components are brand new, never used, except for in our testing process.
