Rotring Renaissance Fountain Pen - First Version, Piston Fill, Black, Fine GP Nib (Near Mint, Works Well)

Be the first to review this product

rOtring Renaissance fountain pen from the 1980s. This is a black piston filler with gold plated trim and red band. It has a rOtring fine gold plated nib installed but it does take Pelikan 120 nib units as well. It seems that Pelikan and rOtring had an ownership overlap in the 1970s and 1980s. Near mint condition with only some slight storage wear. It has an original barrel sticker.

Type  Fountain pen

Product Name Renaissance, based off of the W-Germany imprint it is the first version.

Manufacturer and Year  rOtring, Germany -- 1982-88 is the generally accepted rOtring fountain pen era this pen came from.

Length  5-3/8" capped

Filling System  Piston fountain pen. It is working well.

Color  Black plastic with gold plated trim. It has a windowed viewing section and the classic rOtring red band near the piston knob.

Nib  Fine gold plated rOtring steel nib. It is smooth. As a note, it takes the same nib units as the Pelikan 120 from the same era. Our understanding is that some Montblanc nib units fit as well but we only tested Pelikan 120 nib units.

Condition  Near Mint condition. The piston seal is perfectly clear as is the window. Absolutely no ink residue anywhere. It seems likely that it's never been filled. The pen does have the slightest hints of probably storage wear. It works well. The piston knob turns with a bit of resistance. It has an original barrel sticker that says F.

International Shipping PolicyInternational shipping is based on weight, and we give you a choice (depending on country) of first class, first class registered, priority mail or express delivery (only Express Mail provides true tracking). Internatonal shipments valued at over $40 come with free insurance, unless that service is not available for your specific country. Most countries charge customs fees on shipments from the United States, but this is not something we can estimate and there is no way to pay these fees in advance.
