Product Description
Type Fountain Pen
Product Name Gatsby
Manufacturer and Year S.T. Dupont, France -- 1980s. This was an evolution of the Plume Ultime model, just slightly longer, fatter and with the wrap-around style nib.
Length 5-3/4"
Filling System Takes older S.T. Dupont cartridges and converters or Parker style cartridges and converters. A piston converter is installed. To access the converter, you need to unscrew the short section, which can be a little tricky because it's hard to get a grip on and possibly messy if the pen is inked. In order to start the section unscrewing, you put the cap on but don't push it on all the way so that it snaps, then turn it and the section will start to unscrew, and you can finish unscrewing it with your fingers.
Color Red chinese lacquer with little black reversed "L"s .... gold-colored trim. The clip has serial number 57CBA06 on the side.
Nib MEDIUM 18k nib.
Condition Near mint condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a heavy, highly polished, very shiny pen in a great color and with a unique pattern. The cap and barrel look excellent. It is difficult to see scratches. There are few tiny marks if you look very hard. The cap band and clip have light microscratching. The clip mount has light to moderate microscratching. All imprints are clear.
