Product Description
Type Combo pen - fountain pen on one end, mechanical pencil on the other.
Product Name Unknown
Manufacturer and Year Secretary, a sub-brand of Newark Pen Co., a third tier company, made in USA -- 1930s-40s.
Length 5-11/16".
Filling System Lever filler on the fountain pen end. We restored it with a new sac and it's working very well. Twist mechanical pencil on the other end. It takes "thick" or 1.1mm leads.
Color Classic Black & Pearl. It has a narrow (1/16") cap band. Some of the pearly portions have ambered - you can see it most clearly on the pen barrel, probably due to off-gassing from the ink sac.
Nib FINE 14k Secretary nib is smooth with good tipping.
Condition Excellent condition. There is light scratching on the cap and barrel. There are marks on the barrel where he cap screws on. The lever has light scratching on the top surface and plating wear along the sides. There are marks near the pencil end, likely caused by posting the cap. The nose cone has plating wear around the tip. The cap looks quite good. There are some rough spots on the cap lip, but no cracks or chips. The cap band has scratching and some brassing along the top edge. The clip has brassing around the ball end. The top of the cap has shallow tooth marks. The barrel imprint is slightly faded, but clear.
