Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Sheaffer #2 (this is in the flat top family)
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, USA -- 1920s.
Length The fountain pen measures 5-5/16"
Filling System The fountain pen is a lever filler, restored with a new sac and working well. Guaranteed for one year from date of purchase.
Color Black hard rubber (BCR) with gold trim (lever and clip). No cap band, no chasing. The pen has #3 etched on the end of the barrel, so it might have originally had a #3 nib.
Nib Fine Flexible #2 gold fine nib has easily spread tines for fully flexible writing and strong line variation. We consider it full flex, but it's not a "wet noodle". Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a slim, smooth, shiny pen that is in a great vintage design. The color has faded just a bit to a dark chocolate brown. The contrast can be seen when comparing the section to the cap and barrel. The cap and barrel looks great with mainly light scratching. There are a few longer scratches near the top of the cap but they are not deep. The clip has plating wear on the ball end and across the top with light microscratching. The lever has moderate microscratching with no pitting. The imprints are clear.
