Product Description
Type Full size vintage fountain pen in excellent working condition.
Product Name This is a Sheaffer 21SC as labeled at the end of the barrel. We looked at a 1918 catalog from Sheaffer and the 21SC there is a ring top. This better matches the 21S in that catalog. This is an early "Flat Top"
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer USA -- 1914 to 1920s.
Length 4-3/8 inches.
Filling System Lever filler - working perfectly with a new sac and guaranteed for one year.
Color Black chased hard rubber (BCHR) with gold filled trim and a wide 1/2" cap band.
Nib FINE #2 Self Filling nib. The nib is clean and nice looking with a legible imprint. It is springy but not flexible.
Condition Excellent + condition. The pen has some discoloration but when capped the coloring is very consistent. The chasing is a bit weak but also consistent throughout. The barrel imprints are easily read with the exception of the model number "21SC" where the 21 are a bit faded. Usually the model name has completely worn off though. There is some minor plating wear and the pen has been personalized, "MDH" in a Spencerian script.
