Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name "Flat Top" 5-30 in the junior size. It's has the original 5-30 nib and "5-30" etched in the black band at the top of the cap.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1930s.
Length 4-7/16 inches.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Jade green radite barrel and cap with black piece on the top of the cap, gold plated trim, and two cap bands. We usually see the 5-30s with a black barrel end to match the cap top, but since this doesn't have that, we suspect the barrel was replaced at one time.
Nib FINE Sheaffer's 5-30 gold nib is smooth and firm with lovely tipping material.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. The cap has moderate scratching, and some shallow bite marks around the top of the cap. There is some plating wear on the clip, especially around the top edge and on the ball end. The cap bands have touches of brassing. The color on the cap is fairly good, though there is a darker band around the lower half where there is no cap liner. The barrel color is darker. The section has a few scratches. The barrel has light scratching and handwear. The lever bar has some plating wear along the sides. The imprint is very clear and readable. The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well.
