Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Sheaffer Balance Junior 275 (both the clip and the nib are marked 'junior').
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer USA - Late 1930s; this color was launched in 1937.
Length 5-15/16"
Filling System Lever filler - working perfectly with a new sac.
Color Green striated with nickel or chrome plated trim. This is the second, striped iteration of Marine Green. The "reverse trim" (i.e. chrome and not gold on a green pen) is a little uncommon though you do see it more often on these "Juniors." There is a green viewing window.
Nib FINE 14k "Junior" nib is one of the few Sheaffer flexible nibs from this era, and the flex can vary from nib to nib (some Juniors aren't flexible at all, but we do consider this semi-flex).
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a small, shiny pen in a great color with excellent patterning in the striation. The barrel has light marks caused by the cap lip and light overall scratching. The cap also has quite light scratching with an area to the left of the clip that makes the surface look like there is a film over it. The green viewing window has some ink stains. The lever looks great. The cap band is lovely. The clip has some microscratches but it is shiny and nice. All imprints are clear.
