Type Vintage lever filling oversized fountain pen.
Product Name Balance Lifetime (this is an oversized model and very fat).
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1929-31. This is the earlier of the two "long humped" clips.
Length 5-13/16". This is a fat, over-sized pen.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working perfectly.
Color Jet Black with gold plated trim, a 1/8" wide cap band, and a long flat humped clip. White dot above the clip.
Nib FINE gold Lifetime nib. Firm and smooth. It has the serial number 1820041.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a fat pen in deep velvety black with a vintage look and in a classic design. The barrel has light to moderate scratching all over. The end of the barrel has additional marks, from posting and also some tooth marks. The lever has plating wear along the sides and some brassing on the top surface. The cap has moderate scratching all over, with some deep, spidery marks around the top of the clip. The cap band has moderate microscratching and quite a bit of plating wear. The clip has light scratching, and brassing around the top edge, the ball, and a blotch of brassing over the first three letters of "Sheaffer's". The white dot looks good. The imprints are clear.
