Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling ring top fountain pen with a flexible nib, restored and working well.
Product Name Self-Filling (aka "Flat Top") #2 size pen. It has a later #3 nib.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA - 1918-21.
Length 4-3/8"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber (discolored to brown) with gold plated trim and a 1/4" wide engraved cap band.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE gold Sheaffer's #3. Nib is smooth with nice tipping material. It's what we would call excellent every day flex, though not fully flexible, with easy line variation from fine to a broad, and even more with a bit of pressure. See writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition. Ornate engraved wide band. There is a hard-to-see crack on the rim of the open side of the cap (see the 6th picture). There are a few small scratches on the barrel. The imprint is partially worn, the chasing is still quite distinct. The pen has been fully restored and is working very well.
