Color The body is solid sterling silver in a lovely checked marquetry pattern that is very pleasing to the touch. The trim is gold plated. (Marked "Sterling Silver" with the Sheaffer crown.)
Nib 14k, fine, V-inlay nib. The nib is marked 14k 585.
Condition Excellent + pre-owned condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a gorgeous, heavy, beautifully designed and elegant pen. The smooth end of the barrel has some scratching and a few dots of tarnish. Everything else is near mint. The imprints are clear.
