Product Description
Type Vintage Sheaffer fountain pen.
Product Name Sheaffer Junior, this is the version that is slightly rounded with flat ends.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer USA - circa late 1930s or early 1940s
Length 4-1/2"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working perfectly.
Color Grey and white marbled with red veins and chrome trim. The color is strong, and has not really faded or ambered very much.
Nib FINE 14k Sheaffer Junior nib has some flex, and we've got a writing sample below to show that off.
Condition Excellent condition. The main issue with this pen is the plating wear, a common problem for the Juniors which had thin plating. There's a lot of brassing and scratching on the cap band and the clip. The lever is in much better shape, with plating wear along the edges. The color is really nice, very consistent between barrel and cap, and is largely free of the ambering that we often see in pens from this era. The red veins are also very nicely colored. There are light scratches here and there, but no cracks or chips. The imprints are clear.
