Product Description
Type Mechanical pencil with clip
Product Name "Lifetime" was the product line (and is marked on the top-piece), but Flat top is what collectors call this style of 1920s Sheaffer.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1925-9, according to Jonathan Veley's excellent Mechanical Pencil Museum website (see: http://www.jonathanveley.com/mechanical-pencil-museum?id=61).
Length 5-3/16th inches.
Filling System Takes 1.1 mm lead which it extends and retracts well via the traditional twist mechanism. We'll include a small packet of leads.
Color Jade green with gold filled trim. The color is beautiful and very even. Gold filled trim.
Condition Very nice condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a slim, shiny pencil in a great color. The barrel has light to moderate scratching. The cone has small deep scratches that resemble tool marks. The gold end piece is scratched up and, in addition, the rim around the top is misshapen. The clip has some plating wear on the ball but it otherwise looks very good. The imprints are clear.
