Product Description
Type Vintage oversized lever filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Lifetime model commonly called a "Flat Top." It has a white dot on top of the cap, and a Lifetime nib. This is an unusual version with a 1/4" wide cap band, which is commonly seen in "autograph" models where the band is made of sold 14k, however this band is gold filled.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA – circa 1930 (long round ball humped clip).
Length 5-5/16".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black with gold plated trim and an unusual 1/4" wide cap cand. The white dot is on the top of the cap.
Nib EXTRA FINE gold Sheaffer's Lifetime nib is smooth with nice tipping material and quite firm.
Condition Very nice condition except for a crack in the cap lip, though the crack stops under the wide cap band so we do not expect it to spread or be an issue as long as the cap is not posted. There's some brassing on the edges of the cap band and the ball of the clip, as well as a tiny spot on the upper clip (see photos below). There are some scratches on the cap and barrel, and on the section. No chips, dings, or dents, and the imprint is very crisp and readable. The pen is fully restored and working well.
The barrel is engraved "Lee Huston" in neat block letters (see photos).
