Product Name PFM III
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer USA -- 1960
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System The PFM III uses a snorkel filling system. The snorkel works in combination with the Touchdown filling system. Unscrew the knob to extend the snorkel, pull out the piston, immerse the tip of the snorkel in ink, and push the piston down. Wait 10 seconds to allow the bladder to expand and pull the ink in. Then screw the knob to retract the snorkel. No need to wipe ink off of anything. The filling system works well with excellent suction. The filling system was restored here at PSP with a new sac, point gasket and o-ring.
Color Blue with Gold Filled Trim.
Nib EXTRA-FINE 14k Nib. Smooth with excellent tipping material.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a large, substantial pen with executive styling -- it is handsome and elegant and shiny. The cap and barrel have only microscratching and the overall appearance is very shiny. The wide 3/8" cap band and the clip have microscratching or polishing marks, but no brassing. The white dot is slightly yellowed, but otherwise perfect. The imprints are clear.
