Product Name Sovereign, from the Snorkel line. One of the less common snorkel models, it has a steel lined cap with a gold filled clip, no cap band.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1952-9.
Length Fountain pen is 5-5/8", and pencil is 5-1/16" long.
Filling System Pen is a snorkel filler. We've restored it with a new sac, O-ring, and point gasket. Guaranteed for one year from date of purchase. Pencil takes 0.9mm leads and utilizes a simple twist mechanism. A packet of leads will be included.
Color Bright blue with a steel cap and gold plated clip. The cap has a pattern of straight and wavy lines on it. The section of the fountain pen is lined black. It has the original nib size sticker on it.
Nib FINE two-tone F3 14k open nib, 14k with palladium masking.
Condition Excellent condition, in box, with paperwork and with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a beautiful, shiny pen and pencil set that has a wonderful classic look. The fountain pen section which is perfect has the original nib size sticker on it. The barrel has posting marks and long scratches that go to the end of the barrel, probably from posting. The very shiny cap has just some light microscratches. The clip has light microscratching. The fountain pen is in excellent overall condition. The mechanical pencil has moderate to heavy scratching on the barrel portion with two long cracks. The cap has moderate to heavy microscratching with a few small deep pit marks on the top of the cap. The cone has pitting and a rough surface. The clip has heavy plating wear and pitting along the top edge and at the end along the sides. The imprints are legible on the mechanical pencil and clear on the fountain pen.
