Product Name Unknown
Manufacturer and Year Skater Pen Co, Japan - 1950s or '60s
Length 5-1/16" long
Filling System Aerometric filler. Unscrew the back half of the barrel, and the you'll see the filling system. It's like a squeeze filler, we don't think it can be removed.
Color Black with gold-plated trim. The middle portion of the barrel is made of a translucent yellow colored resin with black stripes.
Nib FINE two-toned steel nib. The nib is marked with "Trademark - Skater Special Pen". It's firm with good tipping material. Note that the nib slit is off-center, so you may need to experiment a little to find the "sweet spot" for you.
Condition Excellent condition, in box. No cracks, chips, or personalization. There is light to moderate handwear and scratching, about what you'd expect from a mid-tier pen company. The trim has brassing. The nib masking is a bit worn, but there's still a distinct difference between gold and silver colored parts. This is a nice little piece of pen history. The original instruction leaflet, printed on onionskin paper, is also present in the box, and there's also a branded cellophane bag. The impritns are crisp and clear.
The Skater Pen company started making pens in 1950 and continued through the next decade.
