Product Description
Type Limited edition fountain pen - #03/100, marked on the end of the barrel.
Product Name Kaku-Tate Urushi
Manufacturer and Year Taccia - c. 2018. There's a fair amount of mystery as to where Taccia pens are actually made ... the company seems US based, the nibs are probably JoWo, and the pens are distributed by the Japanese brand Itoya. We suspect they are probably made in China or Taiwan.
Length 5-15/16" long
Filling System Sailor-style cartridge/converter. A Sailor converter installed
Color Wide Stripe Ranforest Bark. This pen features the two-tone "Heki-tamenuri" urushi. It features a blue-green color with a brown overcoat, and the brown has been polished away to show wide stripes of the green urushi underneath. As the pen is used over time, the green will become more visible. The clip and section are also coated in brown urushi.
Nib Originally a Broad 14k gold two-toned nib, this was modified with an architect grind by Dan Smith of Nibsmith.com.
Condition Near mint condition, in wooden storage box with fabric sleeve. This is a stunning, substantial pen with nice styling. It looks new and unused. The imprints are clear.
