Manufacturer and Year Hintz was a stationer in Reading, Pennsylvania and they were in operation from the 1880s to 1923.
Length 5-1/8"
Filling System Eyedropper. We'll include instructions and a bit of silicone grease so that you can keep the threads ink-tight.
Color Black smooth hard rubber. Gold filled cap band.
Nib FULL FLEX + with line variation from extra fine to broad. See writing sample. We're almost willing to call this one a "wet noodle"! Gold 14k Franklin #4 nib is probably a replacement by Philadelphia nib maker Franklin, since we know there were Hintz branded nibs. in excellent condition with lots of tipping material. There's a short crack running from the 4 to the "I" in Phil which does not affect writing and which will not get worse unless you pull the nib and re-set it. It will not be made worse by normal writing and flexing.
Condition Excellent condition with hardly any hand wear and no browning. Brassing on the trim. Good imprint. The slip-cap is a little loose when the pen is capped, but fits nicely when posted. It has been cleaned and tested and it is working well. (We'll guarantee it for a year.)
