Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen.
Product Name Unknown
Manufacturer and Year Unclear. The nib says "E E Ercolessi, 585 Osmiridio", suggesting Italy (E E Ercolessi was a long-time pen shop in Milan). The marks on the barrel suggest that at least the sterling overlay was made in London around 1915. There's an imprint near the end of the overlay barrel that might be a maker's mark, but we're having a lot of difficulty interpreting it due to wear. It might say "W&B" or "W&S", but we can't find a matching maker's mark.
Length 5-3/8" and slender
Filling System Eyedropper. We'll include instructions, a pipette and a bit of silicone grease so that you can keep the threads ink-tight. We guarantee the filling system for a year from the date of purchase.
Color Black smooth hard rubber with a sterling silver filigree overlay.
Nib E E Ercolessi flexible fine 14k nib. Easy flexing from medium-fine to double broad. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is an ornate and elegant pen in a classic vintage design. There are some areas where the barrel and cap have shrunk away slightly from the overlay, which is a common side-effect of aging. The filigree has some light scratching, as well as assorted dents and dings, but overall it's in quite nice shape. The black hard rubber is faded somewhat, but is still nice and dark. The section and end finial have light scratching from the cap lip. The top of the cap has some shallow denting.
