Product Description
Type Vintage mechanical pencil working well
Product Name Unknown
Manufacturer and Year Unknown, Europe. This resembles some 1920s Wahl-Eversharp pencils that we've had in the past. The only imprint reads "18 K R", which is a typical European mark, but we can't narrow it down further than that.
Length 4-3/4"
Filling System Takes 1.1mm (aka "Thick") leads and extends lead in the traditional twist method - you twist the top piece. As is the case with many of these early mechanical pencils, twisting extends the lead but you have to push the leads back in to retract. We will include a packet of leads.
Color "18 K R" gold filled with a barleycorn pattern. The pencil cone is not gold and the pencil has an ornate column decoration on the cap. There is also a floral patterned silver-colored 1/2" wide band around the body, underneath the clip, which is bordered by two 1/6" copper or rose gold colored bands.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks, dings, dents, chips, or personalization. There's what looks like a welded area where the clip attaches, but we're not sure if that is a repair or the original method used to secure the clip. The pencil body is hexagonal, like a typical woodcase pencil. The patterning is very clear. The pencil is working very well. Ships in small green box with a leatherlike patterned exterior.
