Product Description
Type Vintage telescoping mechanical pencil
Product Name Unknown
Manufacturer and Year Unknown, probably made around the 1900s or 1910s.
Length About 2-9/16" fully retracted (without the ringtop hardware), and 5" fully extended.
Filling System You simply pull the ball end piece to extend the whole of the pencil, and then you can extend the lead by turning the cone-piece. It takes 2.0mm Drawing leads, though it only has room for about 2/3" long of one. There's a lead installed, but we don't have any additional leads.
Color 10k yellow gold filled, marked on the top ball end. Outer tube has a snakeskin texture, and the inner tube has a pattern of thin lines.
Condition Excellent condition. Some brassing and plating wear on the bail (the stirrup-shaped piece that allows the pencil to hang from a chain or ribbon). Outer tube has brassing that actually enhances the pattern. The inner tube has scratching on the end where it contacts the outer tube. There is also a dent on the ball end, which easily seen in the photos below. It looks really nice, and works well.
