Product Description
Type Vintage full size fountain pen
Product Name The nib is marked Wahl #2.
Manufacturer and Year Wahl, USA -- 1920s.
Length 5-1/8"
Filling System Lever filler, restored with a new sac.
Color Red woodgrain hard rubber. The ripples are very long and this patterning is commonly referred to as "woodgrain." This red and the woodgrain are known as rosewood. The pen has gold filled trim consisting of two narrow cap bands, a clip, the lever, and an end of barrel band. There's a small mark halfway impressed on one of the bands which may indicate the banks are 14k. The lack of brassing may support this conjecture. The section is black.
Nib EXTRA FINE Wahl Eversharp #2 Flexible nib. The tines are very soft for strong line variation. We consider this fully flexible. See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition. The hard rubber has very even coloring. No scratches or cracks. The lever and barrel band show some wear. There is a stamp on the lower cap band. It extends onto the red hard rubber. We cannot make out its detailing but it appears to be an imprint. The cap imprint is legible but hard to read.
